Water, Books, Turmeric and More!

finishthis-smallIt’s Wednesday, time for the weekly Link Up.  I know I skipped a few, but this week’s prompts intrigued me and so I figured I’d get back on track!

As you know by now this link-up is hosted by Nicole (Three 31) Lisa (COASTLINED), Jen (The Arizona Russums), and Becky (The Java Mama).  If you’re new — welcome!  If you’ve joined in before, thanks for returning and be sure you add your post to the link-up. If you don’t have a blog, don’t fret. Answer the prompts in a comment. Next week’s prompts are provided at the bottom of this post.

Prompts for WEEK #13 (April 2) are:

I don’t get enough…

glass-of-waterWATER!  I know I should drink a lot more water than I do, especially on days when I run or practice yoga.  I’ve even posted about the importance of water.  I hope with the warmer weather coming it will be easier to drink water.  A few years ago, I did a great job drinking water.  I had a quart sized container and I filled it with water and put it on my desk.  I sipped it throughout the day.  And when it was done, I refilled it and drank it again.  I really should find a container and fill it up in the morning.  I find that if I have water handy I will drink it, but I rarely think to get up and get some!
My favorite indulgence…

Easy — Chocolate!  And it is good for you!  Well, dark chocolate is.  I recently read a book by a fellow blogger, Doreen Pendgracs all about Chocolate called Chocolatour: A Quest for the World’s Best Chocolate.  Doreen travels the world in search of fine chocolate!
I made a major change in my life when…

The most major life change I have had recently was when I got divorced.  Wow, that throws you for a loop!  But I came out the other side stronger, more independent and in many ways happier than I was before.  Prior to this, the only other major life change was having children.  That was a wonderful life change that I wouldn’t have missed for the world!
You should read…

Oh I have so many favorite books!  Let’s list a few from different genres.

Self Help: The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle — life changing!

Philosophy: Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand — fascinating look at a capitalist society vs. one dependent on government; you would think it was written today

Fiction: I have a few favorite authors and here are my favorites from each. Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver, Centennial by James Mitchener and A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving

____ is my secret ingredient in ____turmeric

Turmeric is my secret ingredient in almost everything!  As turmeric is very, very good for you, I put it in just about everything!  The only dishes that escape are when I make spaghetti sauce or anything else Italian!

If you want to get a jump on next week, Prompts for WEEK #14 (April 9) are:
On Saturday morning, I usually
I feel beautiful when
I wake up every morning
A happy home
When I have down time, I

  1. I LOVE ECKHART TOLLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Most people, even if they’ve heard of him, don’t appreciate his words. I loved Power of Now, LOVED. IT. There was another, but I can’t think of the title. But great book. I might have to get these books out and read them again, it’s been a while and you’ve reminded me how much I miss them!!!!!! A friend of mine suggested ‘Atlas Shrugged’ to me and I never picked it up. Might have to add that one to the list as well. Thanks for joining us again this week, I hope you’re having as much fun as I am. =)

  2. I’ve never used Tumeric. I’ll have to search for a recipe.
